Garwyn Oaks Northwest Housing Resource Center

The Garwyn Oaks Northwest Housing Resource Center (aka GO Northwest) Inc. is a community based, HUD certified homeownership nonprofit organization located in Northwest Baltimore that provides homeownership and financial education, counseling, coaching and resources for predominantly low-moderate income individuals and families in Baltimore City. We have served the Baltimore area for over 20 years, established in 1999 as the Garwyn Oaks Housing Resource Center, a project of the Garwyn Oaks United Neighbors Association, a grass roots neighborhood organization in Northwest Baltimore City, and incorporated in 2007 as the Garwyn Oaks Northwest Housing Resource Center to allow us to expand our service area and programming. We are listed on approved lists for homeownership counseling agencies for HUD, Maryland and Baltimore City housing departments. 

Our services consist of 1) homeownership services: online and group homebuyer education and one on one counseling; foreclosure prevention counseling; financial capacity workshops and coaching; and access to financial and homeownership resources to help individuals achieve their financial and homeownership goals; and 2) community investment activities which include community engagement, preservation and marketing activities to help improve, sustain and promote partner communities for homeownership. We have partnered with community organizations, stakeholders, and institutions to provide services and resources to individuals and families seeking to obtain, maintain and retain their homes affordably.  Through our programs, GO Northwest has equipped and empowered individuals to strengthen financial capacity, purchase and keep their homes and strengthen and sustain their neighborhoods.
