About Us

Founded in 1982, the Haitian-American Community Coalition (HCC) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit community-based service provider (and originally a network coordinator of eight Haitian community centers in the New York Metropolitan Area that help U.S. Haitian immigrants gain self sufficiency).
While our primary focus is Caribbean - and African-Americans, we welcome all community members.
In 2019, HCC served approximately 17,000 individuals through supportive housing, targeted prevention and supportive services, fitness education (via the FITBK and FITQB initiatives), health and wellness education, nutrition education, case management, domestic violence services, mental health services (via BeWell, our Article 31 mental health clinic), substance abuse counseling, community mobilization, immigration services, and client advocacy for individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS.
HCC’s social media engagement has increased by 33% reaching nearly 150,000 unique individuals annually. Our social and community outreach covers a broad range of topics including disease prevention, fitness, health education and general information regarding HCC’s initiatives.
We are proud to provide our services in English, French, Spanish and Haitian-Creole through our native speaking staff. We also have the capacity to provide interpretation services and translate documents into the aforementioned languages.
A 38-year service history has established us as a spokes organization and information source on Haitian communities in the U.S. and Haiti for Federal, State and City agencies, hospitals, universities, public schools, and research groups.
