Saint Vincent de Paul

  • Mission

The mission of St. Vincent de Paul Village is to prevent and end homelessness one life at a time. We achieve our mission by providing outcome-based programs in the spirit of our CREED (Compassion, Respect, Empathy, Empowerment, Dignity).

    About Us

Beth Israel’s San Diego Hunger Project relies on wonderful volunteers like you to help feed between 400 and 750 adults and children in the San Diego Community, between 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. every Sunday at St. Vincent De Paul - Father Joe's Village at 1501 Imperial Avenue, San Diego.

Volunteers over the age of 11 are welcome (accompanied by an adult). Beth Israel provides food, funding and volunteers for this program. Cash donations are also needed.

The Beth Israel Hunger Project was founded by member Joan Kutner more than 25 years ago, and has fed hundreds of thousands in need. All volunteers agree to adhere to "Joan’s Rule," the guiding principle of the Hunger Project’s founder:

Please greet everyone you serve with a smile and 'Good Morning.’ You just may be the first person who has greeted them warmly in days, and you just might be getting their new week off to a better start.
