THE CAPITAL CITY BALL

The concept for the Capital City Ball was created in September 2007 by a group of DC area professionals who saw an opportunity to create a high caliber, annual black tie party for the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Our goals are simple: host a top notch party, make sure our guests have a good time, and raise money and awareness for an important charitable cause. We also are committed to attracting a diverse group of fun and friendly people..

We chose combating human trafficking as our cause, because it is such an egregious crime, and because the organizations dedicated to fighting it need a tremendous amount of support to effectively combat this scourge.

It is unacceptable that human trafficking exists anywhere, but it is especially troubling that it is a significant problem right here in Washington, DC, and we are determined to leverage this event to make a difference well beyond the money we raise.

This event is truly a team effort that draws on the hard work of many people, including staff, executives and volunteers from our charity beneficiaries, and our own executive and host committee members, who have connections to a variety of social networks. Support from our corporate sponsors, vendors, and guests is also vital to the success of this event.

We look forward to seeing you at the ball, and we encourage you to learn more about our charity beneficiaries and lend them your continued support.

Entertainment Live music will be provided by Bittersweet, an eleven-piece, high energy dance band that performs regularly at exclusive events throughout the Washington area.

Hot & Cold Hors d'oeuvres will be availalbe to enjoy through out the event as well as an open bar. Please be aware that there will be no alcohol served to anyone under 21 years of age.

Silent Auction A variety of items will be available for bid, including artwork, sports tickets, hand crafted objects, collectibles, dinners at fine restaurants, and electronic equipment. Proceeds from the silent auction benefit the charities associated with the Capital City Ball and help them continue their important work fighting human trafficking and modern-day slavery.
