About Us

The Delaware Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of animal cruelty, neglect, and overpopulation by providing services for Delawareans and their companion animals since 1873. We have two shelters – one in Stanton, Delaware and one in Georgetown, Delaware – where we perform over 9,000 spay/neuter surgeries annually, more than any other provider in Delaware, and in addition, we take in more than 2,800 animals each year. Our clinics have continued to grow to include a spay/neuter van, which provides transportation of animals across the state to the clinic, and monthly low-cost vaccine clinics vaccines for Delaware residents.
