Center for Architecture

About Us

The Center for Architecture was established in October 2003 by the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter and its charitable affiliate, the New York Foundation for Architecture. The Center is New York City’s premier public space for exhibitions, discussion, education and professional exchange on architecture and the built environment. Our mission is to educate a broad audience about the built environment and the value of contemporary architectural practice in urban life. Through informative exhibitions, timely public programs and design education experiences for K-12 students and families, the Center reveals the transformative power of architecture and serves as a vital place of collaboration and dialogue for building professionals and the general public alike.
