    About Us

The Children's Heart Foundation (CHF) is the country's leading organization solely dedicated to funding Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) research.

The mission of CHF is to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs.

CHF is a volunteer-driven organization. With the support and dedication of our volunteers and donors, we are able to continue to fund life-saving CHD research.

Most people are unaware that Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) are the most common birth defect in America. Approximately one in one hundred, or 40,000 newborns, are born with a CHD each year. CHDs are the most common cause of infant death related to birth defects. However, because of advancements made through research, death rates from CHDs in the U.S. have declined by 37.5%. It's our goal to see that number increase, and to continue to see babies born with CHDs survive to adulthood. All of which is only possible through research.

The Children's Heart Foundation (CHF)'s mission is to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects. Since 1996 CHF has independently funded nearly 100 research projects totaling $10.6 million.
