Nick Virgilio Haiku Association & Writers House

  • About Us

The Nick Virgilio Haiku Association, founded in 1989, supports youth literacy and education; promotes the writing of poetry, especially haiku, by all; operates the Nick Virgilio Writers House; and furthers the work and poetry of America’s most famous haiku poet, Camden’s own Nick Virgilio.

The Nick Virgilio Writers House partners with Philadelphia's Mighty Writers to offer free after-school and evening writing programs for Camden youth. We also offer writing workshops for adults, meditation sessions, and a poetry reading series, all towards the goal of building inclusive arts community in Camden.
