IIPSOCULTA is a Mexico based non-profit organization that works since 2001 to generate conditions for social justice in Mexico, using community organizing and education with a gender, human rights and transnational perspective
We facilitate projects with over 10 organizing initiatives in 4 states in Mexico, mostly in indigenous and rural communities. These projects address the roots causes of forced migration, discrimination and violence.
Through Popular Education Schools and our two movement building strategies, (Apofam in MExico, and Transnational Villages Network in the US) we accompany women and men that have been subject of discrimination and economic marginalization in building individual and collective power to make democracy a system that serves social justice.
Every year we organize NewYorkTlan, a festival that reunites transnational communities to celebrate the contributions of indigenous immigrants to NYC and the world.
