The Love Thy Neighbor Project (LTNP), housed at Tennessee Wesleyan University, consists of the TWU Food Bank, the Back Sacks Program, and the Mobile Food Pantry. The project is designed to help end food insecurity in Eastern Tennessee. The TWU Food Bank provides fresh and shelf-stable foods to individuals from low-income communities within McMinn County. The Back Sacks Program provides weekend meals to local elementary and high school students who may not otherwise have access to food during weekends and holiday breaks. The Mobile Food Pantry is a monthly event hosted at different locations throughout McMinn County to distribute food to impoverished individuals.
LTNP provides opportunities for students and communities members to participate in service, and supports low-income rural families.
