Advocates Abroad ("Advocates") is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides legal and non-legal aid to refugees and asylum seekers on the ground and remotely. These services are provided without discrimination of identity or compensation for services.
Advocates is incorporated in the State of Hawaii and is registered as an operational NGO in Greece under certification number SEMKO 1059.
The purpose of Advocates is to ensure fair and equal legal access to vulnerable entities, in the defense of their dignity and basic human rights. The two methods of Advocates operation are through direct intervention: with teams in the field providing legal and non-legal advocacy, and through beneficiary focused research projects and remote legal aid, provided by lawyers based in Europe and the USA.
Advocates' beneficiaries are asylum seekers, refugees, and others facing the risk of deportation without having been afforded the right to seek asylum in the European Union.
