About Us

Advocates Abroad ("Advocates") is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides legal aid and MHPSS care on the ground and remotely to refugees and asylum applicants. These services are provided without discrimination of identity or compensation for services.

Advocates is incorporated in the State of Hawaii and registered as a 501(c)3 as a non-profit organization. Advocates Abroad is also registered as an operational NGO in Greece under certification number SEMKO 1059.

The purpose of Advocates is to ensure fair and equal legal access to vulnerable entities, in the defense of their dignity and basic human rights. The two methods of Advocates operation are through direct intervention: with teams in the field providing legal aid and policy advocacy, and through beneficiary focused research projects and remote legal aid, provided by lawyers around the world.

Advocates Abroad's beneficiaries are asylum applicants and refugees who face the risk of deportation without having been afforded the right to seek asylum in the European Union.
