ARCS Foundation Oregon

Achievement Rewards for College Scientists Foundation, Inc., Oregon Chapter (“ARCS Foundation Oregon”) is an independent, all-women-member-managed Oregon 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2004. Our mission is to raise and donate unrestricted monetary awards to academically outstanding doctoral students in many fields of science, engineering, and medical research at Oregon’s public universities.

Our university partners use offers of ARCS Foundation Oregon Scholar Awards to recruit and retain doctoral students who demonstrate outstanding research capability and higher-education teaching potential. Currently, ARCS Foundation Oregon distributes about 80 monetary awards annually to Ph.D. students at Oregon Health & Science University, Oregon State University, and the University of Oregon.

Our annual award distributions to doctoral scholars now exceed $450,000. Over our 16-year history, ARCS Foundation Oregon has granted awards totaling more than $5 million to 301 ARCS Scholars.

We are part of a network of 15 independent, state-chartered chapters. Together with our national organization, ARCS Foundation Inc. (“ARCS National”), we are dedicated to providing financial support to the brightest United States citizen-scholars in STEM fields. Since its founding in 1958, ARCS National has awarded more than $120 million collectively through its state-chartered chapters to over 10,000 ARCS Scholars in top-rated STEM programs at leading U.S. universities.
