    About Us

Civil Air Patrol was formed in World War II and was chartered by Congress as the official benevolent auxiliary of the U. S. Air Force. It operates nationwide from its network of more than 1,000 local squadrons in its three mission areas of Aerospace Education, Emergency Services and the Cadet (youth) program. Its mission is broad enough to include teaching cadets to fly, responding to natural and man-made emergencies, search and rescue and assisting educators with assistance for their STEM programs.
