The Habitat Store, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville was founded in 1991 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Over the past two decades, we have built homes in partnership with more than 100 local low-income families. We also currently manage two trailer parks and the local Habitat Store, which raises money for Habitat homes by selling building products and other donated materials.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville works to create simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with low-income families, volunteers and the communities of greater Charlottesville.
The Habitat Store supports Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville by selling new and salvaged building materials and home furnishings to the public at discount prices. All proceeds from the Habitat Store contribute to the construction of new Habitat homes.
The Habitat Store participates in Habitat's overall environmental initiative by diverting usable materials from the waste stream while promoting the responsible stewardship of natural resources.
We also seek to extend Habitat's mission by making home maintenance more affordable for everyone.
Five full-time employees and a dedicated volunteer staff contribute to the daily operations of the Store. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am - 5:00pm.
