In the fall of 2016, Kaufman Music Center’s Face the Music program teamed up with acclaimed
composers Missy Mazzoli and Ellen Reid to launch Luna Composition Lab, a program intended
to inspire girls and young women (or gender non-conforming individuals) to compose. In its first
two years the program garnered attention from the New York Times, The New Yorker, Musical
America, The Huffington Post, and NY1 News, fostered the creation of eight ambitious new
works by fellows, and culminated in sold-out concerts at Brooklyn venues Roulette and National
Sawdust. Encouraged by its successful two years and deepening partnerships, Luna Lab will
begin its third year in the fall of 2018, and is looking to add a talented, smart, and passionate
Operations and Development Manager to its team.
