  • About Us

The Connecticut Sports Foundation Against Cancerwas founded in 1987 by Connecticut native John Ellis, a former catcher for the New York Yankees and cancer survivor to financially assist cancer patients and their families and fund cancer research. For the past 26 years, through its Grant Recipient Program, CSF has quietly granted over $3.5 million to more than 4,000 Connecticut families dealingwith the financial hardship that often follows a cancer diagnosis. In addition, CSF has donated more than $1.5 million to support ongoing cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering. CSF is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
