    About Us

Founded in 2013, BlacklistLA Run Organization aims to connect people through community, art and running. BlacklistLA provides a safe, energetic environment that empowers people to discover the great city of Los Angeles. From weekly running events, a training program and a sanctioned race (HBD LA 5K), BlacklistLA is intent on making Los Angeles a better place. In 2016, BlacklistLA started Project 42/42, a complimentary training program for runners to complete races throughout the year. Spanning 36 weeks and led by BlacklistLA’s volunteer pacers, the program is designed to guide runners towards completing the LA Marathon, and BlacklistLA’s own, HBD LA 5K. The HBD (Happy Birthday) LA 5K, established in 2015, was founded to celebrate the birth of Los Angeles on September 4th. As the first known event to celebrate the birth of this LA, the race is sure to thrive for years to come, and will make certain that September 4th will be a date to save. None of BlacklistLA’s events and initiatives would be possible without the team of volunteers that dedicate their time to making this vision come true. From the organizers, the pacers leading the running events, photographers and race day volunteers, the team is always growing as our dream expands.
