One Tree Planted engages and impacts populations all over the world. In just eight years, we have managed to get over 40 million trees in the ground through new and established relationships with over 266 planting partners. In 2021 alone, we planted 23.6 million trees within 166 planting projects in 42 countries across six continents and have potentially sequestered more than four million tons of carbon over the next 20 years. Through these projects, we helped to create 2,734 jobs, supported 35,072 farming families, and engaged 39,146 volunteers to restore over 35,000 hectares of land. In 2021, One Tree Planted coordinated 312 tree planting events worldwide and engaged and empowered over 5,151 women in developing countries. Our T.R.E.E.S. (Teaching Reforestation, Environmental Engagement, and Sustainability) program grew enormously in 2021, adding 1,086 new classroom registrations and bringing our overall number of classrooms that follow the curriculum to 3,567. By collaborating with the World Resources Institute, The Jane Goodall Institute, and Rainforest Alliance, One Tree Planted has been able to maximize its impact with innovative solutions to restore the planet.
