Volunteer Yes Chile

We help very poor children who have been abandoned by their parents, either due to extreme poverty, neglect, abuse, substance abuse.

We work in barrios around Santiago de Chile, locating street kids and out-of-school children. We make friends with them, get them into our informal schools, and give them basic education leading to sponsoring them in regular public school at the grade appropriate to their age. While with us we attend their nutrition, medical and clothing needs. The program runs all year round, and doesn’t stop when they are placed into schools. As we run clubs, to see how the children that have attended our schools are doing at home and in school.

We are a self funded Organisation although we have no volunteer registration fees, but we do ask for $100 USD a month to help keep our projects going. Volunteers will have to arrange travel to and from Chile. Also help will be provided to find accommodation in Santiago at the expense of the volunteer.
