    About Us

Founded in 1978, the Center for Community Counseling provides counseling to low income people without health insurance or who are underinsured. These vital mental health services are provided on sliding scale (with payments as low as $5 ) by volunteer therapists and supervised student interns. Unlike insurance plans we do not limit the number of sessions in a year a person may receive and will continue after a year dependent on need. Annually we see over 400 people in individual counseling and/or in groups. 95% of our clients experienced childhood abuse; our services are intended to both address current struggles and also serve as a tool for the prevention of child abuse, to decrease domestic violence and suicidality . As one client said, "I view my life as a before and after story. Before I received counseling at CCC, my life was dark and dreary. Frankly, I just didn't see the point of living. After counseling, I've learned how to get to know me and to be kind and gentle with myself. Now, I can't wait for each new day. Thank you CCC for your life changing and life- saving services"
