Mayor's Back to School Fair


  • About Us

    We are in need of volunteers for the 15th Annual Mayor’s Back to School Fair that will be taking place on Thursday, August 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Automobile and Centennial Buildings at Fair Park.

    The fair is a family-friendly event providing an opportunity to increase awareness and availability of education, health and social services for parents and children through interactive, informative activities, displays and entertainment. Focusing on helping students with many of their school-related needs, including the distribution of free school supplies to nearly 20,000 children, the Fair is a collaborative effort between the City of Dallas, Dallas area schools, public health department, state agencies, non-profits, corporations and volunteers. As a “one stop” destination, the fair helps prepare economically-disadvantaged children go back to school through services provided by community agencies that specialize in helping children.

    Volunteer Shift Times: Shift #1 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Shift #2 9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Shift #3 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Entire Day 6:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. We will need volunteers to help with: Set-up/Take-down, Registration, Distribution of school supplies, Greeters and Refreshment assistants.

    July 15, is the due date for applications.
