West Loop Community Organization

The West Loop Community Organization (WLCO) is the delegate agency for the West Loop neighborhood, bound by Grand Ave to the North, the Eisenhower Expressway to the South, Ashland to the West and the Chicago River to the East. WLCO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit administering relationships between local businesses and the City of Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection. We provide valuable support for member businesses’ economic development and municipal compliance while promoting community activities and interests. We provide direct lines of communication to government entities like local aldermen, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the 12th District Police precinct. The Taste of Randolph, Movies in the Park, and West Loop Nights — and now the Fulton Market Expo — are just some examples of the events that we host throughout the year.

The West Loop is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in Chicago. It is home to thriving restaurants, shops, galleries and spacious residential lofts. Thanks in part to its convenient location, nearby retail offerings, family-friendly community, loft-style living and budding green space the West Loop is one of the fastest growing residential neighborhoods in the City of Chicago where new residential development continues to emerge as the demand for large, family-friendly housing increases. With national companies having recently opened up offices in the area, business both large and small are migrating to the West Loop at an exponential rate where warehouse buildings that once dotted this mixed use neighborhood are now being rehabbed and converted into innovative office space.

Known for its award-winning restaurants, boutiques, burgeoning art gallery district and unique residential loft-style living, the West Loop is one of the City of Chicago's most attractive neighborhoods. Randolph and Fulton Market streets have become an epicenter for internationally acclaimed restaurants led by some of the world’s most talented and innovative chefs. The West Loop is also considered a hub for fashion and the arts, staking claim to renowned galleries, dance companies, designers, boutiques and music venues.
