  • Mission

    Institute for Safer Trucking’s mission is to provide information to survivors and families of victims after a truck crash; educate the public about research-based solutions to reduce the frequency and severity of truck crashes in the United States; and collaborate with motor carriers, technology companies, labor unions, truck drivers, safety advocacy groups, and other stakeholders to make trucking safer.

    About Us

    Institute for Safer Trucking is a 501(c)(3) organization located in Washington, D.C. We provide a variety of programs and resources to the public to help make trucking safer and assist those who have been adversely impacted by large truck crashes, including:

    • Providing support and information to families of victims and survivors of large truck crashes following their crash,
    • Assisting those adversely affected by truck crashes in their personal journey to recovery by facilitating events in which they can connect with others who have undergone a similar tragedy and share their stories,
    • Educating families and survivors about truck safety issue and help them advocate for policies that will reduce truck crashes and reduce the resulting injuries and fatalities in the Unites States, and
    • Drafting expert analysis on key truck safety issues and disseminating data and research about truck crashes and solutions that could prevent them.
