Lumen Christi Institute
The Lumen Christi Institute is a center for Catholic thought founded in 1997 by scholars at the University of Chicago. Incorporated as a Catholic institution legally distinct from the University, its academic and intellectual programs complement the work of campus ministry and engage the culture of the University of Chicago with Catholic thought. The Institute’s programs include lectures, symposia, master classes, and non-credit courses at the University of Chicago; national leadership programs in its summer seminars for students from leading research universities and in its Program in Catholic Social Thought; and its Cultural Forum, which shares the Catholic intellectual life with the lay public. Now in its nineteenth year of operation, the Lumen Christi Institute enjoys an international reputation as the leading institution of its kind and continues to work toward leavening American higher education with future leaders better educated and formed in Catholic faith and thought.
