    Literacy Suffolk was established in 1978 originally as Literacy Volunteers of Suffolk County. We train volunteers to tutor adults who want to improve their low literacy skills. We believe that adults with improved literacy skills become more productive and resourceful members of the community with a better ability to improve their lives and the wellbeing of their families
