Building Bridges is a Pittsburgh-based community initiative dedicated to bringing people together across cultures, backgrounds, and generations through art, music, wellness, storytelling, and meaningful conversation. Our mission is to reduce loneliness, foster belonging, and inspire kindness by creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and connected. We believe that every conversation, every act of kindness, and every shared experience helps build stronger, healthier, and more united communities. Together, we're not just building bridges—we're building belonging.

Building Bridges is a Pittsburgh-based community initiative that creates opportunities for people from all backgrounds to connect through art, culture, music, wellness, storytelling, and service.

Founded by TEDx speaker, artist, and community leader Ebtehal Badawi, Building Bridges was inspired by a simple belief: when people take time to listen, create, and celebrate together, they discover more in common than they ever imagined.

Our signature event, Building Bridges Day, transforms Pittsburgh's iconic Roberto Clemente Bridge into a vibrant, free community gathering where thousands of people come together to enjoy live performances, interactive art, cultural experiences, wellness activities, youth programs, and meaningful conversations.

We serve individuals and families of all ages, cultures, abilities, and backgrounds. Our work is guided by the values of kindness, inclusion, belonging, respect, collaboration, and hope.

Building Bridges is proudly fiscally sponsored by New Sun Rising, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting innovative community initiatives that create positive social impact.
