For more than 30 years, South Side Help Center (SSHC) has provided critical services to help negate both violence prevention and the incidence and impact of HIV/AIDS in the African-American community. Initially founded in 1987, our 501 c (3) non-profit organization focused on educating the African-American religious community so it could become more sensitive to the needs of people impacted by HIV/AIDS. Since that time, SSHC’s services have evolved to include HIV/AIDS outreach and direct care services and a comprehensive range of youth-centered and capacity building programs to enable other non-profit organizations to better serve our communities.
