Alliance for Coney Island, Inc.

The Alliance for Coney Island is a sustainable civic body formed in 2012 and dedicated to the continuing transformation of Coney Island into a year-round, world-class recreational destination by the sea.

To carry out this mission, the Alliance will be capable of assuming management and maintenance tasks, planning new initiatives, partnering with the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and advocating for resources and policies that support the ongoing revitalization of "the People's Playground."

• Founding members represent a large majority of Coney's biggest attractions,businesses, and nonprofit stakeholders.
• Funding commitments from the founding members, as well as an initial commitment by the City, will support an ambitious program of public events, neighborhood improvements, and outreach.
• Will build on recent and upcoming progress – new amusement parks and retail businesses, a successful 2012 season, major investments in streetscapes and public spaces, and new infrastructure to support further development.
