  • About Us

We are a land trust working to conserve land in Albany Schenectady and Montgomery counties. The organization was founded in 1992 and to date we have preserved more than 12,000 acres across our service area. We operate 19 public preserves and maintain more than 36 miles of public hiking trails, in addition to assisting private land owners with their conservation objectives. MHLC also works in partnership with municipalities, counties and partner organizations to protect and preserve landscapes and outdoor recreational opportunities in the Capital District Region and beyond.
