Czech Center Museum Houston

The Czech Center Museum Houston provides unique education experiences based on authentic objects, art, music, stories and lives of Czechs, Slovaks and people of all cultures, who left their country to seek liberty and democracy in America. Our purpose is to inspire people to learn from those who sought freedom despite being occupied by oppressive rulers and systems. The museum strives to be an accessible resource, actively encouraging the study, appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of diverse cultures and traditions. We promote art, music and dance as well as celebrate history and stories of immigrant experiences shared by Americans. The Czech Center Museum Houston is proud to be one of Houston’s twenty-one fine museums, dedicated to the exploration and preservation of art, culture & history, and serve as a catalyst for discussion of all heritages.

Since 2004, Czech Center Museum Houston has served as a forum for intercultural dialogue on Czech-related topics, offering programs that showcase Czech contributions to the global cultural landscape. Dedicated to exploring and displaying the stories of Czech life, creativity, and innovation by way of performing and visual arts, lectures, and exhibitions, the CCMH is an elegant, small museum located in the heart of Houston's Museum District. Hosting monthly events, the CCMH is a meeting place for Czech and local artists and professionals, fostering open dialogue and creative exchange.

Programming is provided each year in part by grants from generous foundations, the business community, and individuals, largely through the Annual Fund campaign.
