WASHINGTON HEALTH OUTREACH

  • Mission

Washington Health Outreach improves community health by providing free and low cost veterinary, health, and social services for our neighbors.

    About Us

More than 40,000 people are now experiencing homelessness in King County, and more than 100,000 low income households are severely cost burdened (paying more than 50% of their income on housing). Many of those people have pets. Washington Health Outreach was founded in March 2023 and has quickly grown to provide at least one mobile/pop up veterinary clinic each week. WAHO breaks down the barriers pet owners face when accessing veterinary care, especially finances and transportation, meeting people where they are and keeping families together by providing them with the care they need.

Washington Health Outreach is seeking veterinary professionals (vets, technicians, and assistants) who are experienced in the veterinary field and interested in volunteering once a month (or more!) to provide care for pets of low income and unhoused families.
