Our mission is to create sustainable access to timely, high-quality, and affordable radiation treatment for cancer in limited-resource settings globally. ​ "Rayos Contra Cancer" is Spanish for "Rays Against Cancer"

Rayos Contra Cancer was founded in 2018 with the mission to create sustainable access to timely, high-quality, and affordable radiation treatment for cancer in resource-limited settings. One of the biggest limitations in global cancer care is an insufficient number of highly trained medical professionals to treat the overwhelming number of cancer patients in low and middle income countries (LMICs). Furthermore, as access to new radiotherapy equipment improves in LMICs, radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, and medical physicists must adapt to contemporary machines that were not available during their initial training. Rayos Contra Cancer addresses this deficit in training by providing free, virtual, radiation therapy courses to medical professionals around the world. Courses are taught by world-class volunteer educators from both the U.S. and abroad and are coordinated by the Rayos Contra Cancer team.
