These words have described Saint Rose since 1920, when the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet—known for their dedication to unity with all people—founded the college. From the outset, while building on a liberal arts curriculum, the College emphasized the professional training of teachers for which it is renowned even today. Approaching it's centennial celebration next year, Saint Rose now offers more than 40 Master degrees and Certificates of Advanced Study in a wide range of academic areas including Teacher Education, Special Education, Communications Sciences & Disorders, Business, Technology, Counseling, Psychology and Social Work.

Saint Rose is recognized today as an authentically inclusive, progressive, independent college sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet.
