Crested Butte Music Festival

About Us

OUR MISSION

Providing music to the Gunnison Valley for over 20 years, the Crested Butte Music Festival enriches the quality of life for residents and visitors alike, inspires a deeper appreciation and understanding of the performing arts, and is devoted to developing the performers of tomorrow.

HOW WE DO IT

Over the course of seven weeks each summer, CBMF presents nearly 50 concerts, lectures, and masterclasses, and six distinct educational programs for participants of many ages and interests. Concert activities include performances in popular genres like bluegrass, folk, electronic, and gypsy jazz, as well as presentations of Western art music including opera, chamber and symphonic music, contemporary works, and even dance.

CBMF welcomes artists, education participants, volunteers, and patrons alike to be part of a highly supportive and unique atmosphere at CBMF. Both established artists and developing performers share the stage; their combined passion and artistic excellence contribute to a distinct experience for musicians at all stages in their careers, and provide patrons the chance to witness first hand the development, creation, and preservation of world-class music.
