Launch Pad Job Club was founded in 2001 as a program of Workforce Solutions in the wake of the dot.com bust, becoming a nonprofit in 2005. The job club provides a community of fellow job seekers who support and network with one another. Launch Pad programming includes:
- our Friday morning meeting featuring a speaker on a topic relevant to today's job seeker, and afternoon classes (over Zoom) focusing on tools and techniques for the job search
- our SWAT teams (Search With A Team), which are small groups of up to 10 members who meet each week virtually as an accountability group, each group led by a career coach
- our own Toastmasters group -- to help job seekers improve upon their interviewing skills
- our Leap to Success projects program in which our members volunteer on pro bono, short-term, professional projects for other nonprofits, all to keep their skills sharp while seeking employment
We exist because we feel "Job Searching is Too Scary to do Alone".
