Electronics Watch is an independent monitoring organisation that helps public sector organisations work together to ensure respect for labour rights and safety standards in factories that make the ICT hardware they buy. By operating on an affiliations basis Electronics Watch allows public buyers to lower the cost of factory monitoring while increasing impact.
Electronics Watch operates as the “eyes and ears” on the ground for affiliates with the goal of detecting, reporting, and addressing labour rights problems in factories timely and effectively. Monitoring is worker-driven. Electronics Watch believes workers should be able to bring a complaint and initiate an investigation, be informed of the investigatory findings, and be involved in developing solutions. ICT hardware factories are typically located in low-wage production countries in Asia, Eastern Europe, and Mexico.
