Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy
The Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, often referred to as Agassi Prep, is a model charter school whose goal is to offer academic programs designed to enhance a child's character, respect, motivation, and self-discipline. A prototype learning community for students in a risk community for grades K through twelve, the Academy seeks to provide a child-centered education in small classroom configurations of 25 or less, to nurture a sense of responsibility within a safe and trusting environment, and to impart the skills and knowledge needed to achieve individual potential for collegiate preparation.
Located in the heart of Las Vegas' most under-resourced neighborhood, Agassi Prep was created specifically to improve skill levels and combat lowered expectations while at the same time creating a climate of hope among this community's children.
In 2009, AACPA will graduate it's first class.
The Mission of the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy (AACPA), a public charter school, is to ensure that all students learn and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, attitudes, technology, and ethics necessary to become contributing members of society. The AACPA believes that given opportunities, children will make better decisions that enable them to succeed. Advanced technology, smaller class sizes and extended school hours are just some of the practices the AACPA utilizes to achieve a higher standard of education. By working together, community leaders, educators and parents establish high academic expectations for all students.
