Great Kids Farm

  • About Us

Great Kids Farm is a living, working farm that educates students of all ages about healthy eating, sustainable agriculture and the natural sciences. Great Kids Farm connects students of all ages in Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools) to the soil, plants, and animals that nourish their bodies and provide their food. Through hands-on experiences, students and teachers use Great Kids Farm to bring classroom lessons to life.

Operated by Baltimore City Public Schools, the 33-acre Catonsville farm is integral to the school system's efforts to improve school food and educate children and families about how nutritious foods form the foundation for healthy people and a sound environment.

In support of Great Kids Farm is our sister not for profit organizations: Friends of Great Kids Farm. “Friends” was founded by a diverse and committed group of Farm supporters in 2011. Our Board, its committees and volunteers are dedicated to raising whatever additional funds and resources are needed for Great Kids Farm to take full advantage of its potential to offer dynamic and effective experiential learning to all Baltimore City School students.
