    Common Cause Rhode Island promotes representative democracy by ensuring open, ethical, accountable, effective government processes at local, state and national levels by educating and mobilizing the citizens of Rhode Island. As the most active government watchdog organization in the state we have led the fight since the 1970s, through both lobbying and community-based education initiativs, in the areas of campaign finance reform, separatoin of powers, ethics and accountability in government, civil rights, and open government.
