    Yachad / National Jewish Council for Disabilities

    Yachad/NJCD, an agency of the Orthodox Union, is a thriving 6,500 interntaional organization dedicated to addressing the needs of all Jewish individuals with disabilities and ensuring their inclusion in every aspect of Jewish life. The inclusive design aims to give our special population their rightful place within the Jewish community, while helping to educate and advocate to the Jewish world for greater understanding, acceptance, and pro-disability accomodations. Programs include, but are not limited to: Dating and Marraige groups; individual, family, couples, and group counseling; extensive parent services, support, and advocacy; sibling services; weekend retreats for members; summer camps for members of all ages; a plethora of trips and social events for members; special needs yeshivas; Shabbat programs; Day Habilitation programs; Birthright trips for persons with mobility and/or special learning needs; vocational services and placement; social skills development; lobbying for pro-disability legislation on the local, state, and Federal levels; high school and university leadership program.
