  • About Us

BWA is an organization of under- and unemployed workers, based in Boston's Roxbury neighborhoods. BWA members suffer from employment discrimination based on their criminal records, and work towards challenging a broader crisis of joblessness in the community. BWA activity includes a public policy campaign to reform CORI (criminal record) laws, organizing public rallies and marches to politicize unemployment, and to create worker-owned cooperatives as a strategy for local job creation. BWA is both an economic development organization and a prisoner re-entry effort.
