    AFT NM is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers and the AFL-CIO. We represent 23,000 Pre-K-12 and higher education public school employees inNew Mexico. AFT NM supports members and our leaders by providing professional leadership, legal services, legislative/political involvement, a membership benefits program and professional and personal development. AFT NM is governed by an elected member governing body that meets seven times a year including an annual convention. We seek to generate the respect of educators as well as the public and policy makers by being a powerful advocate for professional life, salary rights, and working conditions of public education employees and by being a vital component in the delivery of quality public education inNew Mexico.
