About Us

Paradise Adolescent Home (PAH) is a CARF accredited non-profit, community-based agency celebrating 20 years of serving Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano Counties. Our mission is to help abused and neglected at-risk youth recover and flourish in a home-like setting where their value and self-esteem is realized and nourished.  PAH is committed to developing and delivering high quality programs that promote safety, permanence, and well-being. Our services are rooted in the principles of trauma-informed care and our core values of Family, Compassion, Commitment, Collaboration, Enthusiasm, Flexibility, and Character.

PAH is a holistic short-term residential treatment program (STRTP) for adolescents and non-minor dependents who require specialized mental health services in order to live safely and successfully at a lower level of care. We serve females, including transgender, gender expansive, and LGBTQ+ youth and non-minor dependents, ages 12 through 18, who are in out of home placements through the Child Welfare or Juvenile Justice systems. Our youth are living with a range of complex behavioral health needs, including those related to complex trauma and/or adverse childhood experiences, identity formation issues, depression, anxiety, and self-concept and family issues that inhibit well-being and healthy relationships. We strive to create an interactive and enriching environment that addresses the developmental, physical, emotional, social, mental health and spiritual needs of each youth served by teaching basic life and independent living skills, promoting safety and stability, and preparing for transition to adulthood.
