Dauphin County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) a local charity that is part of a national initiative to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to advocate in dependency court for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. We believe possibilities abound if a child, who has been maltreated, can have a trustworthy adult to listen. By building relationships within our child welfare system and reporting their findings, CASA volunteers guide vulnerable children on to safety and success. Children who have a CASA volunteer are more likely to graduate from high school or obtain their GED; reach a safe, permanent home; and maintain a sense of hope for the future.
