    Empower women and children in all spheres of life through education,training & intervention programs along with networking of peoples' movement for campaigning and lobbying.

    Origin The Founders Ms.N.Logamani and Mr.PS.Dharmaneethi hails from Denotified Tribes Piranmalai Kallar community, native of Usilampatti taluk, Madurai Dt. Usilampatti was known for female foeticide and infanticide and violence against women and they both had the chance of experiencing them through their own families. They worked with NGOs for few years and gained experience in implementing projects. Having found that the female infanticide is widely practiced by their own community, dedicated themselves to stop these injustice to the women partner of the society, developed their own improved ways of finding solutions for female foeticide, infanticide and violence against women. They founded the Women’s Emancipation and Development Trust on 9th October 1992 with the aim of making women themselves free from all struggles and empower them in all walks of life. They selected Chellampatti block of Usilampatti taluk in Madurai District as their target area.
