Foreign Policy Association

  • Mission

The Foreign Policy Association (FPA) is an independent nonprofit educational organization founded in 1918 to educate Americans about significant world issues that have an important impact on their lives. FPA provides impartial publications, programs, website and forums designed to increase public awareness of international matters that shape this country's future, and to foster citizen involvement in those issues.

    About Us

Through its balanced, nonpartisan publications and interactive programs and forums, FPA seeks out and encourages individuals in schools, communities and the workplace to participate in the foreign policy process. The Great Decisions program is the core of FPA's outreach. The annual Great Decisions briefing book outlines the issues, history and policy options of eight key foreign policy topics, providing unbiased current information for its readers. FPA's national network of volunteer coordinators implement the Great Decisions program by setting up discussion groups, seminars and public forums in which participants can meet, discuss the issues, debate the subject and arrive at an informed opinion on each topic.
