St. Francis Friends of the Poor
The purpose of the St. Francis Residences is to offer permanent housing in the community that is decent, safe and affordable with appropriate supportive services to the chronically mentally ill. To achieve this end, the program offers a wide variety of on-site activities and services to the tenants. Regular activities include: a weekly tenants council, a breakfast and lunch program, laundry group, music and poetry groups, photography, newspaper group, art program, trips to art galleries and movie theaters and night lounge. The night lounge includes such recreational activities a bingo once a week, board games and watching TV. Seasonal activities are planned which include holiday events and day outings to the country in warm weather.
