  • Mission

    People Living In Recovery provides recovery support to individuals and families in the community who are in recovery from substance use and mental health challenges. We promote self-determination and wellness as defined by those receiving services.

    About Us

    People Living in Recovery (PLR) is a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) under the supervision of the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse (GCSA), and managed by peer-led individuals who have completed intensive training to become Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialists (CARES). These organizations organize recovery-focused policy advocacy activities, carry out recovery-focused community education and outreach programs, and/or provide peer-based recovery support services (P-BRSS).
