Education Rainbow Challenge

The Education Rainbow Challenge (ERC) is to be a catalyst for progress in the education of inner city youths and a venue for corporate funding and volunteers to help the public schools in the Greater Houston area. Ours goals are to: Promote development in mathematics and science in our inner city youths Encourage and reward our teachers Enable corporate partnership with our public schools

ERC hosts a semi-annual challenge to promote mathematical development and interest in science for students in grades 3-8 in HISD

ERC hosts a semi-annual challenge to promote mathematical development and interest in science. We plan to:

• Promote math and science skills of average students in inner city schools - "average students" are students in regular programs who are from low-income families, in early grades (grades 3-8), and not in gifted/talented programs
• Provide various hands-on science experiments to stimulate curiosity and better understanding of basic science concepts
• Current focus is in HISD, but with sufficient funding and support, we can expand to include other school districts in Greater Houston Area
