About Us

The mission of the BMSO is to enhance the quality of life in central and western North Dakota through innovative artistic and educational programming.

Each season, the BMSO’s annual concert series includes six subscription concerts, often featuring guest artists. The BMSO also provides various educational programs, including fourth grade education concerts serving more than 1,500 students, classroom visits with guest soloists, a growing youth orchestra program, master classes, and workshops. Other events include a free Fourth of July Spectacular on the North Dakota State Capitol grounds, a Dixieland jazz concert and various pops programming, and chamber music concert series in Bismarck and in rural communities throughout central and western North Dakota. The BMSO works with community partners each season to implement a variety of unique and innovative programming.
